Children’s Eucharist, Communion Classes

first-communion

The Episcopal Church has been welcoming children to the altar to receive the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist at an earlier age than many of us who grew up in the Church “back in the day” experienced. This “healthy” change was made to signify that baptism is full initiation into the Christian faith. This October Father Bill would like to invite all children in the second grade or higher to join him for “Thursdays with Father Bill.” Parents, please mark your calendars for the following three Thursdays: October 13, October 20 and October 27 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The children will be celebrated on October 30th at the 10:30 a.m. service. These classes traditionally have been a great deal of fun, and a lot of learning occurs. As in previous years, I would like parents to officially sign their children up by leaving a voicemail on the church answering machine (860-529-7622). These classes are a marvelous way for me to share my love as God’s representative to his beloved children here in the parish. first-communion
