Brother Luis Rivera, Deacon

The Vestry

The Rev. Patrick Bush was ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut after earning his Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary. Following Seminary, Fr. Patrick served as associate rector at both Trinity Church in Tariffville, CT and Galilee Church in Virginia Beach, VA. Both churches were wonderful experiences that prepared Fr. Patrick to be rector here.

Prior to being called into ministry, Patrick worked in engineering for ten years. He worked as a research engineer at Advanced Fuel Research, and a reliability engineer for Coherent, Inc. He also worked as a youth director at Trinity before pursuing ordination.

Patrick grew up in Colorado where he fell in love with creation and anything outdoors. He enjoys camping, hiking, skiing and loves the mountains. Patrick came out to the East Coast for college and graduated with a BS in Chemistry from the University of Hartford. He met his future wife, Nicole, at UHart and they married shortly after college. Patrick and Nicole have twin sons, Robert and Jacob, who are finishing up high school in Rocky Hill.

Fr. Patrick is a self proclaimed ‘reluctant’ runner running several days a week. He also enjoys reading, taking walks with his four-legged best friend, and spending time with his family.

Br. Luis joined our community as a parishioner last year when he moved to Rocky Hill to be closer to his daughters. He had been living in New York City and serving as a deacon there for several years. Towards the end of last year, he decided to transfer his residency to the diocese of Connecticut. He will serve as our deacon for at least a year.
