Takeaway: God’s power to redeem and use you.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Opening Prayer (Tuesday)

Lord, I come before You seeking wisdom and clarity. Help me to discern Your will and make choices that honor You. Open my heart to Your truth as I spend time with You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

We all carry parts of our past that we wish we could erase—mistakes, regrets, failures, and our brokenness. At times, these things can make us feel unworthy of God’s favor or calling. But scripture reminds us that when we are in Christ, we are not merely improved versions of ourselves, we are completely new creations. God doesn’t just repair our brokenness; He transforms us entirely.

Paul, who penned these words, understood this firsthand. Once a persecutor of the early church, he was radically transformed by the grace of God and called to be an apostle. His past didn’t disqualify him; in fact, God redeemed it and used it for His glory. In the same way, God’s restorative power is not just about forgiveness—it is about purpose.

When God restores us, He does so with intention. He removes the weight of our past so that we can step into the prepared future for us. The old ways of thinking, living, and defining ourselves are gone. We are given a new identity, shaped by grace and empowered by the Spirit.

Question

What does it mean to you that you are a “new creation” in Christ? How does this truth change the way you see yourself?

Application

• Embrace Your New Identity. In Christ, you are not who you once were. Let go of guilt and step into the truth that you are a new creation.

• Live with Purpose. Restoration is not just about being made whole; it is about stepping into the mission God has for you. Ask Him how He wants to use you today.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for making me new in Christ. I surrender my past to You and trust in Your power to redeem and restore me. Help me to walk in the purpose You have for my life, not held back by shame but empowered by Your grace. Use my story for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
