11/06/25 Reflections of Courage

Takeaway: Faith over fear begins with a daily declarations of who God is, our lstronghold in every storm.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” — Psalm 27:1

Opening Prayer

Lord, You are my light when the shadows close in and my refuge when fear whispers in the dark. As I reflect on Your truth today, teach me to stand firm in faith, not because I am strong, but because You are steadfast. Amen.

Reflection

There are moments in life when fear is the loudest voice in our life. When uncertainty looms large and our hearts tremble at what might come next. Yet Psalm 27 opens with a bold declaration that Lord is our light in the face of darkness, and fear shouldn’t distract us. David, surrounded by enemies and uncertainty, did not speak these words from a place of ease, but from a posture of trust. He knew that courage is not the absence of fear but the presence of faith. His confidence was not in himself, but rather in the unchanging strength of God, who illuminates our path and secures our salvation.

To declare faith over fear daily is to choose, again and again, to remember who God is. Each morning we can decide to speak truth louder than fear: “The Lord is my light.” When darkness threatens to cloud our thoughts, His light reveals perspective and peace. “The Lord is my salvation.” When guilt or insecurity weigh heavy, His grace rescues and redeems. “The Lord is the stronghold of my life.” When life feels fragile and uncertain, His strength holds us fast. Faith over fear begins in declarations of God’s promisesover us.

This kind of faith does not ignore fear; it faces it with God beside us. David’s courage was born not from self-assurance but from God-awareness. He looked beyond his enemies to the steadfast presence of the Lord. David discovered that fear loses its grip when his eyes were fixed on the One who never changes. When we turn our hearts toward Him in prayer and trust, we begin to see the same in our life: faith over fear. Every day offers a fresh chance to reflect this courage, and to live as though the Lord truly is our light, salvation, and stronghold.
