Takeaway: A single ‘yes’ to God can change history.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14

Reflection

Esther was an ordinary woman placed in an extraordinary position. As queen of Persia, she lived in luxury and privilege, but when her people faced annihilation, she was confronted with a choice—stay silent and remain safe or risk everything to act. Her cousin Mordecai’s words in Esther 4:14 made it clear: God had positioned her for this very moment. Her yes to God’s call would not only shape her destiny but also save an entire nation.

Saying yes to God is rarely easy. It often requires courage, sacrifice, and trust in His plan rather than our comfort. Esther knew approaching the king could cost her life, yet she surrendered her fears and stepped forward in faith. Her ‘yes’ changed history.

We, too, face moments when God calls us to act—perhaps in speaking up for justice, showing kindness to someone in need, or stepping into a new role we feel unqualified for. Like Esther, we may not feel ready, but God equips those He calls. One yes in faith can ripple far beyond what we see, impacting lives for generations.

Application

• Recognize the significance of your 'yes'. Every step of faith, no matter how small, can be part of a much larger story that God is weaving.

• Say yes to God’s prompting, even when it’s difficult or uncertain. Trust that He is using your obedience to bring about His purposes.

• Reflect on your position—God has placed you where you are for a reason. Consider the opportunities He is presenting you with and how your obedience can make a difference in the world around you.

Prayer

Lord, give me the courage to say yes when You call. Help me trust that You have placed me here for a purpose. Strengthen my faith, and use my obedience to bring Your light and love into the world. Amen.
