Takeaway: Seeking wisdom for your time and place.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.” — James 1:5

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as I come before You today, open my heart to Your truth. Speak to me through Your Word and strengthen my faith. Help me to trust in Your guidance, find peace in Your presence, and walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

Life presents us with countless choices—some simple, others complex, and even more that are life-changing. In moments of uncertainty, it’s easy to rely on our own understanding, seeking advice from friends, culture, or even our emotions. Yet, James 1:5 reminds us that true wisdom comes from God, and He gives it freely to those who ask.

Discernment is more than just making good decisions; it is seeking God’s will and aligning our choices with His purpose. Sometimes, His direction may not be what we expected or wanted, but when we trust His wisdom, we can walk forward with confidence. God sees what we cannot, and He desires to guide us in the right path.

Are you facing a decision today? Whether big or small, take time to pray. Seek God’s wisdom in His Word, listen for His voice, and trust that He will provide the clarity you need. His wisdom is never withheld from those who sincerely ask.

Application

• Start your morning by asking God to guide your thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day.

• When faced with a difficult situation, take a moment to pause and read scripture so you don’t make a rushed decision.

• Surround yourself with wise, faith-filled mentors who can offer biblical guidance and encouragement.

Closing Prayer

Lord, I seek Your wisdom today. Help me to trust in Your guidance rather than my own understanding. Give me clarity in my decisions and the faith to follow Your direction, even when I don’t see the whole path. Thank You for Your promise to provide wisdom when I ask. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
