Takeaway: We don’t need all the answers—just trust.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as I enter this time of devotion, quiet my heart and open my mind to Your truth. Help me to set aside distractions and focus on Your presence. Speak to me through Your Word, strengthen my faith, and guide me in Your wisdom. May this time draw me closer to You and shape me to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

The future is full of unknowns. We make plans, set goals, and dream about what lies ahead, but life doesn’t promise us any of it. There are often unexpected turns in life. When things happen unexpectedly, it’s easy to feel anxious or uncertain. But Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us that we don’t need to have all the answers—we just need to trust in the One who does.

God calls us to trust Him with all our heart, not just when it’s easy or when we see the path ahead or when we understand the outcomes. Trust means surrendering our need for control, believing that His wisdom far exceeds our own. When we try to figure everything out on our own, we end up trying to carry a weight we were never meant to carry.

This doesn’t mean the road will always be smooth or that we’ll see immediate answers. Sometimes, trusting God looks like taking the next step in faith even when we don’t know what’s beyond it. But He assures us that He is leading us on the right path. His direction may not always align with our expectations, but it is always good, purposeful, and filled with His grace.

Question

Have you experienced a time when God led you in an unexpected but better direction?

Application

• Take the Next Step in Faith. Even if the full path isn’t clear, move forward with the opportunities God has placed before you, trusting that He will guide your steps.

• Make Prayer Your First Response. Before making decisions or worrying about the future, seek God in prayer.

• Surround Yourself with Trustworthy Support. Seek encouragement and wisdom from mature believers who can help point you toward God’s will.

Closing Prayer

Lord, I confess that I often try to figure things out on my own instead of trusting You. Help me to surrender my future into Your hands, knowing that You are faithful to lead me. Give me peace in the unknown and confidence in Your guidance. I choose to trust You today and always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
