Takeaway: Stepping forward in faith despite uncertainty.

“It is who command you; be strong, then, and be valiant. Do not tremble or be afraid, because Yahweh, your God, is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a grateful heart, ready to hear Your Word and seek Your presence. Open my eyes to the truths You have for me today. May this time draw me closer to You, strengthen my faith, and inspire me to live out Your purpose in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

Fear is a natural response when we face uncertainty, risk, or opposition. It can paralyze us, making us question whether we are capable or qualified for what lies ahead. Esther likely felt this way when Mordecai urged her to speak to the king on behalf of her people. She knew that approaching the king without being summoned could cost her life. Yet, in the face of fear, she chose faith, declaring, “If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16).

Like Esther, we all encounter moments when courage is required. Whether it’s standing up for truth, stepping into a new opportunity, or facing an unknown future, God calls us to trust Him rather than be ruled by fear. Joshua 1:9 reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear but the presence of God. His promise to be with us gives us the strength to move forward.

Application

• Identify a fear that is holding you back from obeying God’s calling.

• Pray for courage, knowing that God is with you in every situation.

• Act in faith by taking one step toward what God is asking of you, even if it feels uncertain.

Closing Prayer

Lord, I confess that fear sometimes holds me back from trusting You completely. Help me to be strong and courageous, knowing that You are always with me. Give me the faith to step forward, even when I am afraid. Amen.
