11/10/25 The Eyes of the Lord Are Upon You

Takeaway: The God who sees you does not merely watch, He empowers your heart with His strength and love.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.” — 2 Chronicles 16:9

Opening Prayer

Gracious God, You who see all and know all, open my heart today to feel the warmth of Your presence. When I feel unseen, remind me that Your eyes are upon me, not in judgment, but in love. Amen.

Reflection

What a compassionate image? Scripture reveals a God whose eyes move across the entire earth. God searches for those who trust in Him, not to expose their weakness, but to empower their faith. We often live under the gaze of many eyes, throughout the day. Others watch with expectations, social pressures measure our actions, and our own self-criticism weigh in on our behaviors. All seem to point out our flaws. But the eyes of the Lord are different. They do not scrutinize or condemn, rather they look with compassion, longing to uphold and sustain those whose hearts are turned toward Him.

In 2 Chronicles, this verse was spoken to King Asa, who once trusted God but later relied on human strength and alliances. The prophet’s words remind us that God’s strength is not for those who are self-sufficient, relying on their own strength, but for those who surrender, resting on God’s strength. When our hearts lean on Him, we discover that His watchful eyes are alert, and ready to strengthen us. His gaze is not passive observation; it is the beginning of participation. He sees not merely what we do, but who God desires us to become in His grace.

To know that the eyes of the Lord are upon you is to live with divine assurance. You are not overlooked. You are not forgotten. The One who created the stars also watches over your steps. His gaze empowers the faithful, not because they have it all together, but because they are willing to open their hearts to Him. So, in your daily walk, whether through joy or hardship, lift your eyes to the One who has never taken His eyes off you.
